I stumbled upon this quote the other day and it got me thinking..
not “overthinking..”
đ
..just pondering.
Is overthinking really a product of under-doing?
or
Is under-doing a product of overthinking?
Clearly having nothing to do can set the mind in motion and trigger all manner of overthinking and worries.
Conversely,
Overthinking clutters up decision making which can lead to confusion and paralysis:Â under-doing at its worst..Â
OR overthinking can provoke you into pursuing way too many unnecessary options.
So yeah..
it’s confusing..
but one thing is clear:
Overthinking is an exhausting exercise with no benefits.
December is ground zero for overthinking by the way:
what to wear?
what to bake?
whom to invite?
what to give?
The drive to reach holiday perfection fuels overthinking which then leads to frustration, exhaustion and potentially depression.
Give yourself the best gift of all this year and release yourself from the need to be perfect.
Make PEACE your goal..not perfection.
Cheers to that…I think…weâll then again….
