Have you noticed how almost every story about Covid vaccines includes pictures or video of folks being jabbed by needles? Last night I saw a segment on the 11 o’clock news about vaccine myths and hesitancy; the accompanying clips included at least a dozen close-ups of needles sinking deep into people’s arms.
Why keep presenting that image?
In an effort to get more people vaccinated, and on the off-chance a good chunk of folks might be anxious about needles, wouldn’t it make sense NOT to show these close-ups over and over and over again? Just a suggestion.
And while I’m at it..
Cities in Oregon and Washington State are facing the very real possibility of renewed lock-downs because of a “4th surge.” Variants are ravaging India, Mexico and other countries. This Covid beast is still alive and well.
Next Thursday marks two weeks post second Moderna shot for my husband and me.. I’ve been calling it my liberation day and I am counting down!
I already have plans..lots of them..because (heaven forbid) what if this freedom I’m about to experience is simply the eye of the Covid hurricane? What if there’s a backside to this storm? Who knows how long the protection from this vaccine even lasts?
Not to be pessimistic, but we’re going out to “play” my friends …. while we can!

My daughter brought up this exact same thing!

I am totally playing. But I just don’t understand why some states are having such bad waves. Are people in those states not getting vaccinated? Are they less efficient at vaccinating? Are they not wearing masks? I know that my city/state was hit really hard and were trying for a July 1 return to normal. And I mean normal. I know you don’t have the answers, but something doesn’t smell right

I don’t get it either.. maybe what one state considers a surge other states don’t? I saw last night that Michigan is in a phased re-opening that is dependent not on covid numbers, but on number of people who get vaccinations..as in the opening up of their economy is based on a reward system for getting vaccinated. I’m sorry, but THAT is messed up..can you imagine owning a business there? SO even if the number of cases go down, opening up is contingent on the percent of the population that is vaccinated..nothing else. That’s crazy….I’m not even sure that would stand up in court.

I can’t imagine that would stand up in court either. That has to be against some statute. This isn’t supposed to be about politics…but yet….

Imagine you’re a restaurant owner and your capacity limit is based on percentage of state residents who get vaccinated. This is CRAZY.
